Custom Framing for Davin Lavikka's Landscape Photgraphy
Framing is highly recommended. These frames are custom frames built by Davin Lavikka for a unique and personal touch to compliment his southwest landscape photography.
Custom framing is done locally so if you would like custom framing then please email us for a quote.
Museum Mount:
The museum mount is the print mounted to a primed and treated, 1/8 inch sheet of masonite with a hanging back installed on the back of the mounting. This leaves the print original size while lifting it off the wall at the same time. The treated masonite is sanded smooth leaving a flat, ripple free surface.

Floating Box Framing:
The depth is around 2 inches. The height and width is 12 inches taller and wider than the origonal print. This frame uses a clear Plexiglas backing allowing the wall behind the picture to be visible. Very nice touch to any wall but especially accent walls. It give the illusion that the picture is floating within the frame.

This mounting syle leaves the face of the print open and exposed for the best clairity. This also leaves them exposed to the elements like an oil painting. The prints Davin offers have much higher UV protection then a standard photo or inkjet print and can be gently wiped off but they aren't scratch or chemical proof. The Fuji Luster prints are laminated in Durasheen offering the highest protection.
The Kodak Metalic prints and Fujiflex prints are not laminated. Laminating these prints ruins the rich glossy look and light reaction. These prints should be hung away from high traffic areas.
